Introducing our friend, fellow sommelier, partner in crime, and mastermind behind Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels, Caleb Ganzer! Born in the ‘cornfields of Illinois,’ Caleb began working in restaurants back in college, while he was studying at the University of Illinois.

“I was studying international studies and French, and wine was kind of just becoming a passion; when I realized it could become a job, and learned that a sommelier was a thing that I could do for a living, I thought that sounded pretty cool and figured I should try and do that for a little bit-- here we are!”

Caleb spent his last semester in college studying abroad in Paris, taking a position at a Champagne bar in the city. Upon returning to the United States, he moved to New York City and worked at Daniel Boulud's restaurants, followed by Eleven Madison Park. Currently, you can find him at Nolita hotspot wine bar, Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels.
